Gradually coaxing the guaguanco out of the djembe ( solo )

In this quick snippet, David begins to introduce the Guaguanco motif to the djembes. The rumba claves is being played on the right foot using an LP Gajate Foot Pedal Bracket with a Medium Pitch Jam Block. And the left foot is playing quarter notes using another Gajate with a Latin Percussion Cyclops Mountable Tambourine. The main djembe is a 14" Remo Key-Tuned, the Low djembe is a 12" fiberglass meinl journey, and the High djembe is a 12" mahogany Toca with an African goat skin. This was recorded using a zoom q4 handy video recorder. Notice the emphasis on the 1 using the bass sound. Also, a slight swing feel to make it groove. I believe it is this slight swing feel that is the secret sauce in pocket players like Steve Gadd.
