Speedy grade in 3D LUT Creator, Part 26 Hello! Today I will edit this bright sunny summer photo; and it’s a pity the smartphone’s camera just didn’t capture all of this. I’m going to fix it in this video. As this photo was taken by a smartphone against smooth sky gradient, I need to be very careful to perform color correction cleanly and without artifacts. For beginning I’m going to lighten the shadows. I’m moving contrast slider to the right, and Pivot slider to the left. Like this. Now I will adjust a green color on the color grid. I will make greens slightly colder and raise the saturation to make it look fresher. I'm going to set skin color on Curves tab. I'll make it a little darker and richer. It looks too dark now, I'm going to bring it back a little. I’ll adjust the contrast using master curve. I’m going to add saturation to the shadows, and I will reduce saturation of highlights. Now I’m going to add red in the shadows with 2D curves. This way I remove green shades from the shadows on the skin. I will make highlights a little warmer. This is how 2D curves work. Now the photo looks fine for me except I don’t like the color of the swimsuit. I’m going to make it bright blue to fit the general color scheme of the photo. I will gather together color rays responsible for the swimsuit color and shift them in the direction of blue color on the grid. Here is the result. This is how A/B grid works. I see gaps that appeared on the gradient closer to the horizon because the sky became more saturated after I adjust the color of the swimsuit. Therefore, I’m going to increase the saturation of these colors. This is so much better! That's how it was before, and here is my “after” version with a warm summer feel.
