Possible starter motor solenoid fault on Mercedes Sprinter Van

I am no mechanic so have no idea what is wrong with my sprinter van. However, more than one person has pointed the finger at the starter motor solenoid at being at fault. As you can see, I cannot start my sprinter but you can hear a distinctive clicking sound plus what sounds a little bit like a server motor whirring away.
