Introduction to Data Visualization workshop

Learn to choose the right chart type to visualize your data, as well as what makes a data visualization effective. Working with Data Series Data visualization is a vital part of data analysis as we conduct our research, but accurate and readable charts are also important for conveying information to our colleagues, students, or other audiences. This workshop introduces resources and best practices for choosing a chart type for different kinds of data - whether you're trying to visualize a relationship, comparison, hierarchy, or process. We will practice creating charts using the free, online tool Datawrapper (www.datawrapper.de), and learn what makes a chart visually effective - as well as how to avoid common data viz mistakes.
