Ironman Outdoor Curling Bonspiel on The Red - 2016
I moseyed over to The Forks on Sunday to catch the final draws of the 15th annual Ironman Outdoor Curling Bonspiel. 80 teams played on ten sheets of ice set up on the Red River. The bonspiel is a fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. This year approx. ten thousand dollars was raised for the charity. Gale force winds gusting up to 80 kms , snow on the curling sheets, rough river ice could not stop this enthusiastic group of curlers from having the time of their lives. Who said winter is no fun?
