DOOM - "Shotgun Symphony" by Steve D - E1M1

A playthrough of Steve Duff's "Shotgun Symphony". This is part 1 where I play E1M1 or "A lazy day on Phobos". "Shotgun Symphony" is an episode 1 replacement for the original Doom. In the words of the author it is "an oldschool mapset for E1 of Ultimate Doom, in the combined E1/E2 style of Fava Beans, but much more violent." Thoughts on E1M1: Easy going, not too dangerous if you're careful. The hitscanners and the lack of armor early in the level are the real threat. And the end of course. But as you can see I panicked a bit, got lucky and accidentally exited the level :P That wasn't quite the way I wanted the level to end; that exit line at the door caught me by surprise, thought the switch in the room was the exit. Ohh well. Anyway, this is a solid starter with just about the right detail and lots of polish. It's smooth and pretty and does what it's supposed to do. Nothing more. I play on difficulty level Hurt me plenty and use the sourceport Eternity. For more info on how to run this great old FPS classic visit https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Entryway or https://www.doomworld.com/ I create levels too since the 90s. Visit my personal homepage at http://windward.dk/TDR/ in case it's peaked your interest. Feel free to leave a comment or ask me questions about Doom or this video. Rip'n'tear! Chris
