Clamshell mode with open Lid in OSX Mountain Lion and Mavericks
Apparently, i've found an easy way to use only the external display(clamshell mode) keeping the lid open in Mountain Lion 10.8.5. I think it will works also in 10.8.4 and 10.8.3. This give various advantages : lower temperatures, use of the trackpad and internal webcam, better wifi signal. Steps : 1) Put the displays to sleep with hot corners method. 2) Close the lid of the MacBook Pro 3)After 5 seconds, open the lid of 5 centimeters, and wait the external display to turn on 4)Complete the opening of the lid
