No 8 of this Anthony Jackson tribute is (Who was) the Boss by Diana Ross. A straight forward disco tune with an exemplary disco bass part. Constantly driving with the octave jumps but at the same time never playing exactly the same, always improvising just enough and never too much. Even a very short plucked fill… ;-) I actually came to know this song via the cover by the Braxtons, later on discovering Mr Jackson is playing on the original with Diana Ross.
