Country Drive in a 1969 Mercedes Benz 280SE Cabriolet + Walk Around and Cold Start
Offered for sale by Performance Auto Gallery LLC Offered for sale is this largely original, survivor 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280SE Cabriolet finished in Grey Beige 726 (over) Maroon (242) with a Dark Brown Soft Top. This 1969 example was built April 30, 1969 and was first registered as a 1970 Model Year at the time of sale in September 1971. This was common in the era when vehicles were built but were not exported to the US until later on. The sale includes the original sales invoice, service records, prior registration history and a clean Maryland dealer title (titled correctly as a 1969 model year). This highly original example was sold to a Mrs. Davidson of Providence Rhode Island on September 8, 1971. The original purchase invoice accompanies the sale. Based on records Mrs. Davidson would own the car from new until at least 2019 until it would be sold to a Massachusetts-based collector and believed second owner of record. This W111 has spent time in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The Grey Beige (762) exterior is believed to be wearing partially original paint and the Maroon (242) leather interior is believed to be all original and unrestored. A set of Coco Mats has been added to protect the original carpeting and is the only change from original specifications. A replacement Dark Brown soft top complements the Grey Beige exterior very nicely and is in excellent shape. A Maroon soft top tonneau cover is included. Please see the gallery for detailed images of the exterior, interior, trim, engine bay, trunk, undercarriage. Paint meter readings are available. This 280SE Cabrio is powered by a 2.8L Inline Cylinder mated to a 4-Speed automatic transmission. The car runs and drives very nicely down the road. The car retains its original Becker Grand Prix radio and features a factory/dealer equipped Magne Temp AC system which is functional. Recent service includes a brake service, oil/filter, belts, and a newer Interstate battery. 1,532 miles shown on the 5-sigit odometer. info@performanceautogallery.com
