At the Intersection: Smart Inclusive Cities in Southeast Asia

The ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF) and The Asia Foundation (TAF) held the final inclusive cities event of the AASCTF Smart Cities–Inclusive Cities Program online on 26 October 2022, called ‘At the Intersection: Smart Inclusive Cities in Southeast Asia’. With over 120 participants, the event capped the Inclusive Cities Dialogues of the program, a series of 9 sessions with 185 stakeholders across several ASEAN cities discussing the challenges and ongoing efforts to improve the access, safety, and livelihood of urban marginalized groups. This final event expands on the takeaways from the dialogues and focuses on the intersection of technology and inclusion to create smart inclusive cities. The event showcased various speakers, including the Mayor of Makassar City in Indonesia, who all shared inspiring examples of digital initiatives that make cities more inclusive.
