The TOW (Tube launched, Optically Tracked, Wire Guided ) missile is an anti tank missile that was first produced in 1970 and can be mounted on stationary emplacements or on vehicles. Ingame, the TOW on ground vehicles is quite a bit weaker than air launched versions, with mediocre damage and a long reload, it is kinda unsuitable for killing anything other than light ground vehicles and air vehicles. When using the missile ingame, make sure that there is a clear line of sight between you and the target and aim on guiding the missile rather than the cursor. Also the further out it goes the more laggy and abrupt the missile becomes making it unsuitable for very long ranges.
