Nicolo Paganini: „I Palpiti". Jochen Brusch, violin; Finn Svit, guitar
This set of variations with the beautiful introduction is one of Paganinis most famous pieces. It was already in the repertoire of such eminent masters as Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst, Henri Wieniawski and Fritz Kreisler. After an introduction full of melodic charm and expressive lines and after a recitative-section soon Rossini's aria "Di tanti palpiti" from his opera "Tancredi" is introduced and followed by 3 most virtuosic variations. Here Paganini displays all those technical possibilities of the violin which made him so famous and which still present a challenge to many violinists, even today, almost 200 years after he composed the piece. Jochen Brusch.
