Connecting IPad to HDTV television using Apple Digital AV Adapter and HDMI Cable
Simple hook up using adapter and HDMI Cable. Adapter cost $39 and HDMI cable cost $14 at Radio Shack. Once the connection was made and television tuned to correct HDMI source, everything that I did on the IPad was displayed in sync on the television. When holding the IPad vertically (portrait), the picture on the television was tall and narrow, just like the IPad display. I rotated the IPad for a horizontal display (landscape) and the picture on the television changed to a wide display, much more compatible with the shape of the television screen. I played a movie on the IPad and the television was in perfect sync showing the movie on the television screen and even playing the audio of the movie over the television speakers. I can see many awesome teaching applications for this simple connection. Easy way to teach the technology!
