GTX 970 vs RX 570 vs RX 470 - Does #Polaris stack up against #Maxwell - GTX 1050Ti killers
Hey folks, a few things have happened over the last couple of weeks, or more specifically since I uploaded my GTX 970 vs GTX 1050Ti video. Firstly, the comment section in that video was filled with some of you standing firm on the side of the gtx 970 and others standing by the rx 470 and then shortly after the video was released suggesting the 970 was a good used alternative to a new Rx 470, AMD goes ahead and releases their Polaris Refresh along with a shiney new replacement for the 470… Ok so maybe its not really “new” per-se being a simple rebrand. But the fact taking advantage to better manufacturing processes to increase the clock speed did give me an idea. Like most of you, we knew the RX 570 was incoming and even had one on pre-order at the request of the same guy who kindly let me build and bench his R5 1400 PC. So sitting here now we have my GTX 970, His RX 570 .. and well it would be just plain rude to not put these cards head to head.. This is one test that I have no idea what the outcome will be! So let's run through a series of tests and see if we can shed some light on this GPU battleground. We will be running these tests on the R7 1700 overclocked to 3.7Ghz with 8Gb DDR4 ram. The benchmarks for the GTX 970 have been re-run since the video pitting it against the 1050Ti since there have been numerous system and bios updates over the last couple of weeks and we wanted to push the settings a little higher.
