Stellartone "Tele-Jazz" control upgrade for J-Bass
Stellartone "Tele-Jazz Bass" control upgrade demo, by Stellartone artist Guy Ron. www.stellartone.com Introducing Stellartone's "Tele-Jazz Bass" control upgrades, for Fender Jazz Basses and J-Bass clones. The "TJ Bass" control system offers a precise laser-cut drop-in replacement for the original Fender J-Bass "shield" control plate. Simply unsolder your four pickup wires and two ground wires from your old plate, and re-solder them to the new plate. No modifications or routing are required. 100% pure analog tone - zero noise - zero distortion - no batteries! In this video, Guy Ron demonstrates one version of the "TJ Bass" control system, featuring a Telecaster four-way "slant" pickup selector switch, a master volume knob stacked above a "tone depth" ring knob, a ToneStyler "Bass Ten" rotary EQ control, output jack, and Fender fluted white-line Bakelite J-Bass knobs. The 4-way "Tele" selector switch instantly and conveniently provides these key pickup circuits: - solo neck pickup - series pickups (humbucking) - parallel pickups (humbucking) - solo bridge pickup The series pickup combination adds a powerful new tonality to a typical Jazz Bass. Louder and fatter than any stock volume knob setting, both pickups in series allows a J-Bass to produce tones much like the classic P-Bass pickup. With pronounced mid-range and reduced top end, "series pickups" provides a perfect complement to the traditional mid-scoop and enhanced highs of J-Bass "parallel pickups" . The "Tele-Jazz" control systems are available in kits or as pre-wired "drop in" assemblies, in these control configurations: - Master volume & ToneStyler - Dual-concentric stacked master volume / standard .047uF tone pot & ToneStyler - Dual-concentric stacked master volume / tone depth & ToneStyler - Dual-concentric stacked volumes for neck / bridge pickups & ToneStyler DUO SIX Options include military black chrome finish on Stellartone's custom shield plate, and Gotoh's knurled brass dome knobs in chrome, gold, black, or 60's two-tone chrome/black stacked knobs. Guy Ron's recording & instrument specs: The bass is a Fender "Flea" model. "On all my videos I use only the bass. I record it directly to the interface (Focusrite iTrack Solo) with no amp or pedals at all. This Fender "Flea" J-Bass features the original Fender pickups and DR Lo Rider 045-105 strings."
