macOS High Sierra R9 290 Fix!
This video is about how to Fix the R9 290 Graphics for macOS High Sierra version 10.13.1, specifically with the card Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 4GB 5DDR. If you are trying to install macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 (17B48) and are encountered by the problem of having only 7mb of video memory instead of 4GB, then this video is for you. I tried the Guide on TonyMacX86 Getting R9 290/390 (non-X) to work on Sierra (10.12) AND High Sierra (10.13) but the hexedit modification unfortunately did not work for me. So if you are searching on the whole internet for a solution like I did, then here is the solution for you. In this video the config.plist file has been tested with the Graphics Card Sapphire R9 290 4G 5D. If you have another brand R9 290 series Graphics Card this fix may work too, just give it a try. The Graphics Card used in this video is: Sapphire Vapor-X R9 290 4GB DDR5 Sapphire Link: http://goo.gl/rew2mx To activate the full amount of Graphics Memory in macOS High Sierra you need to modify the Config.plist file with Clover Configurator: - in Devices at the ATI line put fake id: 0x67B01002 - in Graphics put the following values: At the Frame Buffer FB name put Hawaii yes with double ii that is normal. At Memory Size in VRAM put 4096 At Ports put the value: 4 At Graphics CFG put again the same fake id: 0x67B01002. At the inject Ati line do not forget to checkmark Inject ATI. Save the file and reboot the system. Follow the steps in this video tutorial.
