Midweek Family Devotion-November 4th-Do not fear!
In the movie, "The Sound of Music", the nanny (Maria) teaches the von Trapp children a way to overcome their fear by singing a song and recounting her favorite things. We, as Christians, can use a similar tactic by recalling scripture that reminds of God's protection and His presence when we are afraid. Here are some great verses to use with your family: Psalm 27:1-"The Lord is my light and my salvation---whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life---of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 29:11-"The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace." Psalm 34:17-"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." Isaiah 41:10-"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:13-"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear; I will help you'."
