The civilians began seeking protection of the troops since the humanitarian operations got underway to liberate them from the LTTE terrorists. A large number of civilians has found shelter at welfare camps under the protection of the Security Forces. The troops took initiatives to meet all their needs. The Government had taken special measures to improve the facilities of the welfare centers. Government representatives are also frequently visiting these centers to look into their requirements. They said their only desire is to return to their places of origin after the war heroes have completely liberated the north from the terrorists.
