Trooper Heather Axtman - WSP Recruiter
Heather Axtman is a daughter, sibling, wife, mom, and friend. During her days (and sometimes nights), she also excels in her career of a Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper. We’re proud to have Heather as one of our agency’s trooper recruiters. Born in the logging town of Forks, Washington (yes, the same Forks depicted in the Twilight novel and movie sagas) and later raised in the small town of Chehalis, Heather was on the path to a nursing career. But an overnight ride-along with a Tacoma trooper changed her direction. “I couldn’t believe he got paid to do this (job)!”, Heather smiled. With a passion to serve her community and heart to help others in a "go-go" environment, she shifted that drive to the Washington State Patrol. Every Trooper has a unique story of their journey to the WSP, and we’d welcome the opportunity to hear yours.
