James Martin Vanities Assembly & Review
Assembly and review of James Martin Vanity Brooklyn 40" Single Basin Wood Vanity Set with Resin Top. Model C205-V39.5-PTA. Construction: 3/5. It felt like there were a lot of cut corners. It was advertised as "solid wood," but it was clearly layered plywood with a veneer. The display model also seemed significantly lighter in color, which was what I wanted. Pros: Relatively easy to assemble, fantastic drawers with soft close. Con: The manufacturer's tolerances for the dowels were way off, and the layered plywood left much to be desired. I feel like I overplayed, considering the low-grade materials. James Martin is known for actual solid wood vanities, and what I got was not that. Conclusion: Normally, I would say I get what I paid for, but I guess even going top shelf at a big box store gets me an okay vanity. If you have the time and tools, don't buy this; build it yourself. It will likely be cheaper.
