Marantz SA-11S1 SACD player. Excellent build & finally a proper differential balanced output on XLR
Good build quality and although it takes its time to read the Table Of Contents, once that is done, it offers instant track access on par with those of late 80s magnetic drives from Philips and Sony. Excellent (for SACD) Hitachi pick up. Reads anything: SACDs, CDs and CD-Rs with equal ease and laser power is still only around 100µW Finally - for Marantz - a decent balanced output on XLRs. In olden times, they only ever put in a transformer to create a balanced output and the player as such was single ended. In here they have made a proper differential output. Without a separate 5th and 6th channel for single ended outputs like in Wadia players, but still OK.
