This popular dance from the opera "La Vie Breve" or "The Short Life" by Manuel de Falla is sometimes known as "Danse Espagnole No. 1). This piano arrangement performed by French-American pianist E. Robert Schmitz is from an April 1927 Ampico piano roll # 67441. The instrument is a large 1928 Mason & Hamlin model RBB 7' grand, the very first fitted with "the new Ampico" or "Ampico B" player system before its commercial introduction in spring of 1929.
