55 STRAWBERRIES @ blue garden
Experimental video of the blue garden at the blue house in Trenton NJ taken in MAY2024 with INSTA360 X4. Planted late from seeds bought 2 years ago in Kraków, Poland, things are already growing... * Strawberries - two years later, two seasons later - there are finally red tasty strawberries on one bush I kept in the cage so the nasty squirrels could not get to and destroy them. Last season there was nothing, I left it outside for a winter and now the strawberries are ready. So strawberries are not annuals, they can live several seasons... First harvest = 55 red strawberries, and they taste like Poland... * Poziomki were eaten by squirrels or birds. * I have planted 25 tomato plants but probably too late and there is shade in the garden from the tree on the left, so I don't predict too many tomatoes this season, until I cut/trim the tree... (They want $4,000 to cut and take this tree, or $2,000 to just "trim" it and leave all the debris on my grounds...) * Planted 10 sunflowers - tall/12' from seeds from Kraków. They too will be eaten by squirrels and birds even before they are ready. * Plenty of cucumbers in elongated pots on the upper shelves... * Some herbs like mint and basil... * Ela's pink rose is blooming - the one I bought for her several years ago when we started this garden, for her b-d... * Ula's tea rose is blooming - the one I moved/transplanted from the front around the fence several years ago while rebuilding the front gate, the one which was planted by Ula around 2005 or even before? * There were 3 other roses (planted by "somebody I used to know") which I was trying to save after last break-up/departure (2019) - but they died anyway - which is very symbolic, and perhaps reflects the way things are. Sometimes the exit is just ugly and there is no future contact. * 10' rear corner rose - the biggest rose there is, planted in the biggest red pot and over several years grew to this huge size - in full bloom - will have 30-40 red flowers - over the back entrance... This rose represents the future. ( 2 days later this corner rose was in full bloom with over 50 red flowers.
