Casement Window Lock Broken (in Locked and Shut Position)

The latch for my casement window broke, while the window was shut and locked. There is no hardware visible to remove the lock--it's all inside the window and must be unlocked and open to be removed and repaired. It took some work with paint scrapers and a coat hanger to get the window wedged open, the lock pulled down, and then the lock fixed.
