Fallout 1 Episode 08 - Playthrough Day 8
We continue to explore The Hub after out encounter with Lorenzo. We head south between two blown out buildings and find a new area, The Water Merchants! Here we explore a bit and speak with the lady in charge of the Water Merchants. She does no know where we can locate a Water Chip for our Vault but she does offer to send a Caravan with a 100 Day Supply of water to our vault, for a fee that is. 2000 Hub Bucks seems steep, but if we get desperate we will keep that in mind. Leaving the Water Merchants we head back to way we came and back into Downtown. Heading North toward the Far Go Traders we make a right and head straight. After a quick screen flicker we find ourselves in another area of The Hub, Old Town. Making our way around Old Town we find an abandoned building and then Jake's. Jake sells high priced weapons and ammo. Seeing what Jake has to offer we pick up some new armor and a bunch of Hub Bucks for selling some unneeded equipment. Moving on we find a building filled with shady people who offer us the option to leave, so we take it. Continuing around we find another abandoned building, an odd man who makes no sense and then Harold, who is inside another building. Speaking with Harold, after we have given him 25 Hub Bucks, we hear his story and what happened to him and his friends. From there we explore the two central buildings, one is empty and the other has a few people in it and a basement. Exploring the basement we successfully use a lock pick on one door and stumble onto a trap. Not much damage taken so we press on. Successfully unlocking another door, there are two to choose from, we find yet another trap. The third door we can't pick, but there are three people inside. We will have to come back here later on. Leaving that building we head back to Downtown. Crossing Downtown we head to a third location of The Hub, The Heights. As soon as we enter we are warned by a guard that no-one is allowed here after dark. We let him know that we will be leaving and do so, only to turn around and head back. He doesn't stop us again so we make our way away from the guards and along side the central building. We will pick up here next time...
