The Mercedes-Benz Atego is the European market leader in the distribution segment in the permissible gross weight range from 6.5 t to 16 t. At the core of the Atego's powertrain are two newly developed BlueTec 6 engines whose cutting-edge constructional features represent the benchmark in engine construction. The Euro VI engines deliver particularly high torque right from the low rev range and respond spontaneously. Despite the more than 90 percent reduction in particulate and NOx emissions compared with Euro V, they run on significantly less fuel. The drive power from the new engines is transferred via the automated Mercedes PowerShift 3 transmissions with six or eight gears, which feature as standard in Germany.
