How to install an Intel Processor
This video will cover How to install an Intel Boxed Processor. These instructions are applicable to boxed LGA1150/LGA1151/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1200 based processors and fan heat sinks because of the similarity of the installation process. Note that these processors are not compatible between the different sockets because of electrical, mechanical, and keying differences. Tips : Before you start: Take proper electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions such as using appropriate ground straps, gloves, and ESD mats. Once the processor is remove from the protective clamshell, do not touch the socket contacts or the bottom of the processor. Leave the protective cover that covers the board socket until the processor is installed. If you do remove the cover, be very careful never to touch the socket pins as this could damage the board. Do not discard the protective cover. Always replace the socket cover if the processor is removed from the socket. Before installing the fan make sure all four fasteners are in the correct position. They should be in the full clockwise position. And when handling the thermal solution be careful not to disturb the pre applied thermal interface material on the other side.
