Slide (Matt McDowell) - Android Homescreen Tutorial
This video tutorial is for a highly anticipated homescreen by Matt McDowell titled Slide. Why Slide? Well if you've been using Google's updated apps such as YouTube or Google+ you'll notice that fantastic slide out bar on the slide. Like it? Well now your homescreen have have that too (almost)! Link to Matt's MyColorScreen Page for this screen: http://mycolorscreen.com/2012/12/15/slide-4/ *****See Bottom of Part 4 for wallpapers & PSD***** -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 1: Apex Settings In case you missed it in the video, here are the settings once again: Homescreen Settings -Portrait Grid: 10x7 (or try others if this doesn't suit you) -Horizontal Margins: None -Vertical Margins: None -Manage Screens: 2 Screens -Transition Type/Effect - None -Wallpaper Mode: Multiple Screen (scrolling) -Hide Notification Bar: Enabled Dock Settings -Hide Dock: Enabled That's the Apex Launcher setup complete, now just change your wallpaper to the one provided, remember to read the note above regarding sizing... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2. Multipicture Live Wallpaper: 1. Menu (or hold down on homescreen) - Add - Wallpaper - Live Wallpaper - Multipicture Live Wallpaper. 2. Add Individual Settings - Add 1, then 2 3. Screen 1 settings - Picture Source - Single Picture - Find Home Wallpaper 4. Crop/Resize Ratio - Fit to Screen (should work) 5. Repeat for screen 2 6. Disable (untick) all options in the main menu. 7. Use Lock Screen Settings - Enabled 8. Lock Screen Settings - Picture source - Use plain grass wallpaper 9. Transition Type - Card 10. Go back - Set Wallpaper -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 3: Adding the blank icons Blank.png: http://bit.ly/V5iaxf Method 1: Drag icons that you want from your app drawer, hold down on it and tap the picture, make it a blank png Method 2: Use Desktop VisualizeR, make it a 3x1 size, drag it over the icon you want, tap it, icon will be a blank png, action will be the app you want to open! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 4: - Download Minimalist Text (Free) from here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext&hl=en - Menu - Add - Widget - Minimalist Text - 2x2 - Take off show background - Predefined Layout - Custom Layout - Custom Layout - see video for explanation or download it!
