Ticket to Ride - How to Play

Ticket to ride is a perfect casual entry game. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Suitable for 2 - 5 players, aged 8 and up. - The box includes: 1 train route map board / 240 coloured train cars (45 per colour) / 110 Train cards / 30 Destination cards / 1 summary card / 1 Longest Destination ticket card / 5 wooden scoring markers / Instructions in both English and Afrikaans --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Object is to gain the most victory points by: 1. Connecting cities with train cars, 2. Completing destination cards, 3. Having the longest continuous train line. SET UP: 1. To start off, each player selects their colour train pieces. 2. All point tokens goes to the start of the board. 3. Shuffle and deal out 4 train cards to each player. 4. Place the remaining train cards next to the board and create a bank with 5 face up cards. 5. Shuffle and deal 3 destination cards to each player. A player may return 1, if any, of those cards back to the pack. On your turn: On Your Turn you perform 1 of the following actions: 1. Draw 2 train cards 2. Claim a route 3. Draw 3 destination cards Drawing train cards: You may draw 2 from the bank, or 2 from the deck, or 1 from each. A card drawn from the bank is immediately replaced from the deck. Locomotives are wild cards, which can be used to replace any colour train card in your hand. You may only draw 1 card if you pick up the locomotive, unless you draw it blind from the deck. Claiming a route To claim a route you need to spend the exact amount and colour of train cards to fulfill that route. Place your train pieces on that route to let everyone know that it belongs to you. If the route colour is grey, this means that you can use any of one colour to claim that route. Destination cards: If you decide to draw destination cards, draw 3 and you must keep at least 1 card. End game and Scoring: When a player has 2 or less trains left, all players, including that player, plays 1 final turn ending the game. Everyone then calculates the score. Each time you claim a route you receive points for how long that route is. When you claim a route, move your point tracker along with the relevant points. For each destination card completed, add the points to your final score as indicated on1 the card. If you did not complete any of your destination cards, subtract their score value from your total.
