SSDs can be used as storage devices. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ [Synopsis] This video shows you various options on how you can upgrade your Dell Optiplex 360 MT based computer. I turned my Dell Optiplex 360 MT into a server. If you try to turn it into a NAS server with FreeNas then it will not work. The FreeNas O.S. will not work on this computer. For me, I turned it into a Linux server, but you can use Windows 7 or Windows 10 to use it as a server as well. It doesn't matter which operating system you use. Old computers like this aren't completely useless, they can be connected to your network to store data as servers. They can also be used as a basic computer to browse the internet, stream videos, shop online, online banking, check emails, social media, etc. If you want to use it as a basic computer, I recommend you get a operating system, like Linux Mint, or Linux Ubuntu. All you will really need is a CPU upgrade, a SSD, one larger hard drive, 4 GB of ram if you don't already have it, and a new graphics card. Depending on what you need you can select the parts that you want, so it isn't necessary to get everything I put on this video. I know money is pretty tight these days, so if you don't have a lot of dough and if you want to get more out of your computer just make the upgrades that you need. For daily use, a new GPU, more ram, and GPU should be more than enough. Just these three upgrades will boast your computer's performance greatly. If I was on a tight budget, I would just try to make the most of what I had. Back in the mid 1990s when I was a college student, I didn't have a lot of money. What I did was make small upgrades to the computer that I had, because I didn't have a lot of money to go out and buy a new one. I pretty much did the same thing with my 6 to 7 year old computers that I have now. I upgraded these over the years, like adding a new SSD, a faster graphics card, blu-ray drive, more ram, more hard drives, and other small upgrades to keep these computers viable. I would also buy used computers, like a Dell Precision T5500, and I would upgrade that by adding better CPUs on it, more ram, a better graphics card, improve the cooling system, etc. Today, I could afford to get new computers, and new equipment; however, I just try to make the most of what I have. ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ [Video Links] ♦ Dell Optiplex 360 and 380 Mid Tower Fan Modification • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWE8nK3805M ♦ Dell Optiplex 380 RAM and CPU Upgrade • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb8s3RwVa9Q ♦ Dell Optiplex 360 CPU Upgrade Q6600 • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAO9mSbftsw ♦ Dell Optiplex 380 Power Supply Upgrade • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3atdkd8PPCc ♦ Dell Optiplex 380 Upgrade Graphics Card • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywZpQXjZGVc ♦ Dell Optiplex 360 5.25" DVD-ROM Removal • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CuqPpudswVU ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ [Links to Parts] ◙ Western Digital 3TB WD Blue PC Hard Drive - 5400 RPM HDD • https://amzn.to/3uZNjcg ◙ USECL 4 Ports PCI SATA Raid Controller Internal Expansion Card • https://amzn.to/2PDVMSi ◙ Intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.4 GHZ CPU • https://ebay.to/3kRfzsW ◙ 2 2 GB DDR2 PC2-6400 (Max Ram for this computer is 4 GB) • https://ebay.to/3iKaIdL or • https://ebay.to/3xGf1uz ◙ MSI Gaming GeForce GT 710 2GB GDRR3 64-bit HDCP • https://amzn.to/38fqW97 ◙ SATA Power Cable Adapter 3 Pack SATA 15 Pin Male to Molex • https://amzn.to/3uWz8Vk ◙ 2 Pack SATA to 2 x 3 Pin / 4 Pin PMW 12V PC Case Fan Power Adapter Cable, 3-Pin or 4-Pin • https://amzn.to/3qi37U1 ◙ ICY DOCK Dual 2.5" HDD/SSD & One 3.5" HDD/Device Front Bay to External 5.25" • https://amzn.to/3sVvXLW ◙ EVGA 500 W PSU 80 Plus Bronze • https://amzn.to/3edIplW ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ [Links] ◙ More Computer Related Videos • https://he-1000-1975.com/video-directory/#E █▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█▄█
