Road & Track Presents: The Need for Speed is a computer game in the arcade driving simulator genre, developed by Pioneer Productions and EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts for the 3DO game console in 1994. The game was subsequently ported to other platforms such as PlayStation, Sega Saturn and personal computers. In 1995, a special edition was released called The Need for Speed Special Edition. This is the first part of the Need for Speed series.
