Half-Life Alyx - Pulse SMG - Full Prop Build
In this video I'm building a realistic replica of the Pulse SMG from Half-Life Alyx. The game left such an impression on me I had to make something real from this world. All credit for the models and wonderful instructions goes to FerdysDesigns on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/842949017/pulse-smg-from-half-life-alyx-main-gun Assembly and finishing products used: - Polymaker PolyTerra matte PLA - Brass crafting rods - Ballpoint pen spring - Scrap bolts, window calk (for weight) - Scrap wires - 1 mm sheet steel - JB Weld - Super glue - Hot glue - Bondo glazing putty - SEM self etching primer - EuroSpray 1k High Build primer - MNT matte black paint, synthetic varnish - Rust-oleum satin stone gray paint - Ace "machine implement blue gloss" paint - UNI "posca" matte black paint pen, various sharpies - Blue painters tape - Auto-body masking and gaffer tape - Inkjet transparency sheets - Screen printing supplies - Golden "high flow" acrylic paint (black) - Every kind of sandpaper in the shop The large parts were printed on an Ender 5 Plus, 0.8 mm nozzle with 0.32 mm layer heights. Small parts were printed on an Ultimaker 2 with 0.1 mm layers. Some details were screen printed using tiny 3d printed screen frames. Might do a video on this process in the future if there's interest.
