Promises || Febuary Song
For theology class we were supposed to turn in a reflection on the amazing and beautiful documentary Promises. If you havent seen it you need to go watch if now. Seriously. Its on YouTube. Go on. For this video I tried to focus both on the relationship of the children (well, theyre not children now but I didnt know what term to use) and the Israel/Palestine situation, which is so central in their lives, that brought them together and inevitably tore them apart. I felt Josh Grobans February Song was the perfect choice because to me it talks about people who used to be close but grew apart due to situations outside their control, like Sanabel, Faraj, Yarko, Daniel, and Mahmoud. The idea of the video is that they are reflecting on the past and how they never meant to grow apart. I choose to make the last clip fade to color because I wanted to bring across the idea of hope.
